WHO IS ELMAR?
Elmar Michaël Noteboom was born in Doetinchem in the Netherlands on
the 17th of August 1979.
He grew up drawing every day and everywhere.
His dream was to be an artist and art-teacher, so he studied at the art academy and graduated cum laude.
Currently he works as an artist, illustrator and art teacher at a secondary school,
and he started his own graphic & web
design company Reedeesign.com.
He lives in Arnhem, the Netherlands.
WHAT DOES ELMAR DRAW?
His current style is best described as expressive cartoonesk pop art.
It's mostly in black and white and sometimes with red details.
Elmar draws with fineliners, markers,
Indian ink and acryllic paint, he does it
very fast. Some call it doodling.
WHAT INSPIRES ELMAR?
Travelling to big cities, street-art, art,
artists, the internet, fashion, magazines, music, movies, pop-culture, stylish celebrities, interesting people and
many pupils.
WHAT IS ELMAR CURRENTLY WORKING ON?
Besides working as an artist / illustrator, Elmar works as a teacher on a secondary school in Doorwerth. Two days a week, he teaches art and design to about 350 pupils from 12 to 16 years old, which he loves to do!
Because this school started bilingual education, Elmar is also studying for his Cambridge English diploma.
Elmar also works on several other projects:
Since one year, Elmar and his business-partner Rick have their own web- and graphic design company called Reedeesign.com. They work on the design of logo's, house-styles and websites for small and larger companies.
Elmar is the Artistic Director, so he works as graphic designer and creates all the layout.
Rick is the Technical Director, so he is responsible for the technical part of all the websites.

After years of friendship, Elmar and dance company Dansstorm Oost decided to collaborate in a performance called Ik ben ik.
It is going to be a performance in which three dancers will interact with Elmars drawings, who will be drawn live on an iPad and projected on a large screen on the stage. The dancers will perform and the drawings will show their feelings, thoughts and fantasies. It's a a performance for children between the ages of 10 and 14 years old.
From January 2012, Ik ben ik will play in different schools in the Netherlands. For more information, check www.dansstormoost.nl.
Lolly Jane Blue is an art- and music project, founded in 2007 by five artists from different disciplines. Music, film and fashion are combined in this project. Currently, Lolly Jane Blue is performing her theatre tour called The Odyssey of Lolly Jane Blue in many theaters in the Netherlands. WHAT ARE ELMARS FUTURE PLANNS AND DREAMS?
-To attract many great assignments and gain success for his company Reedeesign.com and all the other projects he is in.
-To illustrate for magazines, a multinational and children's books.
-To remain a part-time teacher and continue organizing the annual visual arts / music / fashion festival DC RE.
